Dear THA Familia,
As many of you may already know, all schools across Oklahoma are moving to distance learning for the remainder of the year. Luckily, our team has been working hard during Spring Break to prepare us for exactly that!
Below is our plan of action to ensure that ALL of our families have access to distant learning.
ASAP - The first thing we need you to do to help us prepare for this transition is fill out the survey Ms. Amanda Yuen sent out last Friday. Only 40% of the families have completed this survey. The sooner you are able to complete it, the better prepared we will be to loan out devices as needed.
Thursday, 3/26 - Friday 3/27 - We will provide paper work packets that families will be able to pick up from drop boxes in front of the THA Middle School. (High School families are also asked to pick up their packets from the Middle School.) The packets are an educational resource for scholars during this time. We will not collect these for a grade.
If your scholar needs to check out a Chromebook to be able to access distant learning, you will also be able to pick up and check out the Chromebooks at this time. If you do check out a device, please take extra special care of the device as they each cost more than $200.
Work packet pick up and Chromebook check out will be from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.
If you don't have internet, we will have hot spots for your family to be able to utilize. These are VERY limited, so we ask that you utilize the free Cox internet promotion if you can. Unfortunately, the hot spots have not arrived yet. We predict they will get here the week of April 6.
Monday 3/30 - Friday 4/3 - We will start offering online classes as an educational resource to families. Your scholar will have access to at least one of each of these lessons: ELA, math, science, social studies, and elective. For this week, the lessons will all be review and not mandatory. We ask, as much as possible, that your scholar participates in these lessons as it will be good for them to get their brains activated sooner than later. It will also allow us to problem solve any issues that may arise prior to April 6.
Monday 4/6 - End of School Year - Online classes will be in full swing! Like the previous week, each scholar will have 5 classes each day: ELA, math, science, social studies, and elective. This time, the classes WILL be mandatory. Also, if you need a hot spot, this will be the week that you can check them out.

Estimada THA Familia,
Como muchos de ustedes ya saben, todas las escuelas de Oklahoma tienen que empezar a dar educación por internet por el resto del año. Afortunadamente, nuestro equipo ha estado trabajando duro durante las vacaciones de primavera para prepararnos exactamente para esto.
A continuación, se encuentra nuestro plan de acción para garantizar que TODAS nuestras familias tengan acceso al aprendizaje de distancia.
Lo Mas Pronto Posible – Lo primero que deben hacer para ayudarnos a prepararnos para esta transición es completar la encuesta que mando la Srta. Amanda Yuen el viernes pasado. Solo 40% de las familias han completado esta encuesta. En cuanto puedan completarlo, mejor preparados estaremos para prestar las computadoras según sea necesario.
Jueves, 3/26 - Viernes 3/27 – Proporcionaremos paquetes de trabajo que las familias podrán recoger de buzones frente de la escuela secundaria de THA. (Las familias de la preparatoria también recogerán los paquetes de la escuela secundaria.) Los paquetes son un recurso educativo para los alumnos durante este tiempo. No los recogeremos para una calificación.
Si su alumno necesita rentar un Chromebook para poder tener acceso las clases del internet, también podrán recoger los Chromebooks en este momento. Si renta el Chromebook, pavor de cuidarlos meticulosamente, ya que casa uno cuesta más de $200.
Pueden recoger los paquetes de trabajo y rentar los Chromebooks de 7:30 am a 4:30 pm.
Si no tiene internet, tendremos puntos de acceso (hot spots) para que su familia pueda utilizar. Estos son MUY limitados, por lo mismo, le pedimos que utilicen la promoción gratuita de internet de Cox si puede. Desafortunadamente, los “hot spots” aún no han llegado. Creemos que llegaran la semana del 6 de abril.
Lunes 3/30 - Viernes 4/3 – Comenzaremos a ofrecer clases del internet como un recurso educativo para las familias. Su alumno tendrá acceso a al menos una de cada clase: ELA, matemáticas, ciencias, estudios sociales, y educación física. Para esta semana, todas las clases serán repaso de material previo y no son obligatorias. Les pedimos, lo más que sea posible, que su alumno participe en estas clases ya que serán bueno para ellos activar sus cerebros lo más pronto posible. También nos permitirá resolver cualquier problema que pueda surgir antes del 6 de abril.
Lunes 4/6 – Fin del Ano Escolar - ¡Las clases del internet estarán en pleno! Igual que la semana anterior, cada alumno tendrá 5 clases cada día: ELA, matemáticas, ciencias, estudios sociales, y educación física. Esta vez, las clases SI serán obligatorias. Además, si necesita “hot spot” esta será la semana en la que podrán rentarlo.
