In the early morning of June 18, a severe weather event with destructive wind speeds occurred throughout the City of Tulsa. Tulsa Honor Academy’s Sheridan Campus located at 1421 S. Sheridan Rd. was significantly impacted with both interior and exterior damage. As a result of the heavy winds, a masonry wall built in 1956 that included a flag pole collapsed into the adjacent roof. This resulted in a damaged sprinkler main, which created water damage within THA Flores Middle School and THA’s Network Offices. THA High School was minimally impacted.
Over the course of the past several weeks, restoration and construction crews have prioritized ensuring classrooms were repaired and sanitized to support THA in starting school as scheduled on Wednesday, August 2.
Restoration and rebuilding of THA’s Network Offices will take place over the course of the next several months.
Damage is estimated between $2-3 million. If you would like to donate to THA’s restoration efforts, please click the donate button.
We are so grateful for the THA Familia, including our team, scholars, families, staff, facility partners, restoration crews, and the Tulsa community, who rolled up their sleeves to ensure classrooms were ready for Day 1.
